Élisabeth-Louise Vigée Le Brun, the pastelist Adélaïde Labille-Guiard, Rosalie Filleul de Besnes, Marguerite Gérard or Marie-Guillemine Benoist contributed to these major changes. Still lifes, genre scenes, portraits... more than 70 works are exhibited. Over the course of the paintings, the evolution of the 19th century society is shown, shaken by multiple changes.
